How To Be A Professional In A World Of Amateurs

In this short video, Grant Cardone talks about the difference between a professional and an amateur salesperson.

Regardless of your chosen profession, the reality is you’re also in sales.  And in order to succeed in sales, you have to become a professional.  You have to understand the whole cycle.

Every success Grant has ever had has been a result of something he learned about selling, negotiating and getting his way.

“Your success in life and your career will depend entirely on this thing called selling” -Grant Cardone Sell Or Be Sold

While selling may not be your primary occupation, it is essential to creating the life you want and deserve.

Professional defined:  A person engaged in a specific activity as one’s main, paid occupation rather than a pastime

Based on Grant’s experience, 99% of all so called professional career salespeople have only a slight idea of what selling is much less how to actually determine and predict results while seling.

How To Be A Professional In A World Of Amateurs

  • Is there another level to this thing called selling?
  • Would you like to be in control of your profession at a higher level?
  • Do you want more in your life?

Amateur defined:  One who engages in a pursuit, a study, a science, or sport as a pastime rather than a profession.   -OR-  Someone lacking in experience and competence in an art of science.

Which one are you right now?

  • Is selling just a pastime for you?
  • Do you enjoy your hobbies more than your work?
  • Could you be even more competent at selling?
  • Are you not fully clear about what you’re doing when you negotiate with people?
  • Do you struggle to get your way, to get a yes?
  • Do you struggle with objections?
  • Do you struggle with arguments and find people becoming argumentative with you?
  • Do you think there’s no way you can do this?  Be a salesperson?
  • Do you (maybe) have a little disdain or even hate for think called selling?
  • Do you hate rejection?

If you even considered answering “yes” to any of these questions, we got some work to do and you have to get clear on these two things.
