ADVANTAGE: The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom

This week’s word is like a three maybe even four part harmony.  There are a lot of components to this week’s word.  It is a simple word with a whole bunch of complications, so there’s dichotomy in this week’s word I’m excited to share it with you.  We’re going to go down two different roads on the word, are you ready?

DEFINITION:

a condition or circumstance that puts one in a favorable or superior position.
the opportunity to gain something; benefit or profit.
a favorable or desirable circumstance or feature; a benefit.
put in a favorable or more favorable position.

ETYMOLOGY:

early 14c., avantage, “position of being in advance of another,” from Old French avantage “advantage, profit; superiority” (12c.), from avant “before,” probably via an unrecorded Late or Medieval Latin *abantaticum, from Latin abante “from before,” composed of ab “from” (see ab-) + ante “before, in front of, against” (from PIE root *ant- “front, forehead”). Compare advance (v.).

ACTION IDEA:

YOU:  What can you do TODAY to set yourself apart in the market?  What does your competition NOT do and how can you use that to your advantage?

YOUR PRODUCT:  What makes your product better?  What are the advantages of your product?  Why should someone pay more for yours?

ADVANTAGE: The Wednesday Word

Your ADVANTAGE will all start with your mindset and attitude right now.  You exploiting your advantages starts with your attitude.

The most dangerous component of a slowdown isn’t usually the reality of economic factors, it’s the amount of damaging thinking that can infiltrate the marketplace as well as affect the individuals who support and spread such thinking.  While bad attitudes never show up on a P&L statement they always have something to do with the bottom line.”  -Grant Cardone | If You’re Not First You’re Last
