Let me ask you a question: how will you know when you’re wealthy?
Maybe you might already be wealthy and not even know it?
This week’s Wednesday word is wealthy. So what I want to do is drop the “Y” for a second and talk about the word wealth. Then we’ll come back to wealthy and then we’re gonna get into the why…
The definition of the word wealth
The word wealth is a noun it means an abundance of valuable possessions or money. That’s the first thing you see when you Google it. You can also see Google says things like, “the state of being rich, material prosperity, plentiful supplies of a particular resource.
What does Webster’s specifically have to say about wealth?
Still a noun. Abundance of valuable material or possessions or resources. Abundant supply, profusion, all property that has a money value or an exchangeable value. All material objects that have economic utility.
Now here’s where it gets juicy, like really awesome…
Wealth etymology
Mid 13th century “happiness.” Wealth means happiness that’s where that word originated from. Prosperity and abundance of possessions or riches; from the Middle English well meaning well-being an analogy of health…
So now let’s go back to just wealthy. The one with the Y.
Adjective; having a great deal of money resources or assets rich. Webster’s says the following “having wealth, very affluent, characterized by abundance, ample.
WEALTHY: The Wednesday Word: How will you know when you are wealthy?
Keep in mind, the Wednesday Word of the Week is always going to be about you. And the wisdom is gonna come from the words. So you have to really figure out what does that mean to you?
But if we’ve already talked about wealth being a particular resource; an exchangeable value that has economic utility then it’s fairly safe to say that wealth is not just about money in the bank. If wealth has a lot to do with happiness and health, how will you know when you are wealthy?
So, what I want you to do this week this is simple. This is just the simplest thing ever, okay? What I want you to do this week is just take inventory of your wealth.
And let’s just start with the money. How much you got in the bank?
[Do you know the 5 Reasons You’re Still Broke?]
Are you satisfied with that number? If not, how will you know when you’re wealthy? Meaning how much needs to be in there for you to be like, “OK I’m wealthy!” Once you know what that number is, then let’s take a real good look at this… What do you not know about getting that much money?
[Wealthy: The Wednesday Word SIDE BAR… Another question I want you to just ask yourself once you realize if there’s a gap between where you’re at now and where you need to be to be able to consider yourself financially wealthy… And once you sort of have an idea as to what you don’t know or start literally working on what you don’t understand, then the other thing I want you to just start thinking with is; are you in the right vehicle right now to create that kind of wealth?]

Now let’s run an inventory of the origin of the word in terms of happiness. How happy are you on a scale from one to ten, ten being happy as a pig in $#!* and one being not happy at
all (maybe hating on life, hating on yourself) where are you at? And then what needs to change? What needs to shift in order to get to a number ten?
And speaking of shift and change, I’m going to just give you a quote from my good friend, the late great Wayne Dyer:
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Your happiness starts with your perception.
So just inventory your happiness right now. How much do you have? Do you know how much you need? How will you know when you are wealthy in happiness? What do you need to shift in order to get there?
Last one is health.
Rate your level of health on a scale from one to ten. If you want to do that or just think about it. Are you healthy or not? And how will you know when you are? Right how can you quantify your own personal level of health? Are you wealthy in health?
Are you taking care of not just the body but the mind and the spirit as well? We talked about the pocketbook, we touched on spirit and mind because we talked about happiness, but how are you protecting the vehicle you’re in right now. This vehicle, your skin suit! This hunk of meat that you’re dragging around planet Earth everywhere you go. How are you taking care of it? And what condition is it in right now? And if you think of it like a rental car when you have to give it back, because eventually you will, how will you give it back? What condition is it in right now?
What condition is your meatsuit in???
Is your meat suit wealthy? Are you healthy?
So this is your Wednesday Wisdom. When was the last time you put real thought into this? Right now, that’s the question… How will you know when you’re wealthy? When was the last time you put real thought into what wealthy means to you? Wealthy in terms of what’s in the bank account, wealthy in terms of your level of happiness and wealthy in terms of your level of health. When was the last time you thought about it?
That’s your chore for the week, that’s your assignment, that’s your task. Spend some quality time this week thinking about how wealthy are you and make sure you answer the question. Not to me, to yourself.
