What can you do that is simple and measurable that will help you make sure that you launch into 2020? What are the habits you need to develop in order to reach your goals in 2020 and beyond?
There are two things Uncle G does that you can do too. In fact, Grant has been doing these two things for most of his adult life and it’s an incredibly safe bet to say that this two habits have been two integral and contributing factors to his success.
Launch into 2020 Tip #1: Beat the sun up
Start each day with a win. It’s you verses you when that alarm clock goes off. Are you in control of your day or does the day control you? When you start waking up before the sun rises, you’re taking control of the day, you’re conquering your urges to be comfortable and live an average life. When you beat the sun up, you will start your day feeling accomplished and that you’re winning. To get yourself psyched up, all you have to do is get out of bed.
Launch into 2020 Tip #2: Journal your future
Regardless of how Grant feels, he’s going to roll out of bed and write down his goals. He’s been doing this since he was 25 years old, and he’s going to continue doing this in 2020. The past is not what you should have your attention on, it’s your future that counts. It’s where you’re going that matters, not where you’ve been. Don’t focus on what happened, but what you want to make happen! It’s very easy to get caught up in the past. And not only the past losses and failures but the past victories and successes can hold you back too.
Why wouldn’t you do these?
How would 2020 turn out for you if every day this year you beat the sun up and journaled your future every morning? Are you doing both of these right now? What’s the worst thing that could happen if you did? When was the last time you got up immediately when the alarm went off? What was it for? Most likely you had something to do that was more important than your warm comfy bed. And if you’re looking to launch into 2020, you’re not going to do it staying in bed. And since 2020 is a journey, it’s important to stay on course. That means journaling your future. Your goals and dreams are destinations. Staying in the past will not get you there.
