Average vs Successful People: The 4 Main Differentiators
How do you consider yourself? Are you an average person or a successful person? What makes one average or successful? the other?
Let’s look at the definitions real quick…
Definition of Average: an amount, standard, level, or rate regarded as usual or ordinary.
Definition of Success: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
How will you know if you’re being average?
- Do you give up easily?
- How much money do you spend on being entertained?
- Are you a know it all?
- Have you ever referred to yourself as “lazy as f*ck”?
How will you know if you’re being successful?
- Has anyone accused you of being “persistent as f*ck”?
- Do you invest significantly more money in education and personal development than being entertained?
- Are you always curious?
- Is massive action your default setting?
Remember what I mentioned earlier, that you can be both of these in one day. You can have average moments and you can have successful moments. One moment you’re jacked up and pounding the phones taking massive action and then something happens like you guy you just cold called who doesn’t even know you tells you to go perform an unnatural act on your couch and suddenly you lost your motivation and then slip over into average land by giving up in that moment which can easily snowball into entertaining yourself watching cat videos on YouTube, deciding that cold calling doesn’t actually work and you know better and you go hide in the bathroom for 20 minutes…
UNTIL, you shake yourself out of it and get back in there!
Why, because at your core, you ARE persistent as f*ck. Remember when you were a kid? How persistent were you as a kid? And weren’t you always curious? At what age did learning become a pain in the ass and separate from entertainment? Sesame Street was cool and fun. And kids are always taking massive action. Where did all that energy go?
Average vs Successful: Shifting gears
Your mission should you choose to accept is to be in a constant state of vigilance against the creep of average. When you feel average creeping in, keep in mind a few reminders from The 10X Rule.
- Average is a failing formula.
- Average is choice and a state of mind.
You can choose your state. What are you going to be? Remember the questions from earlier, how will you know if you’re being average or successful? “Be” means to exist, to occur; to take place; to stay in the same place or condition.
Don’t be an average dude or dudette.
If you want to HAVE success, you must choose to BE success and you choose to DO success. And how do you BE and DO success?
- You’re persistent as f*ck
- You put more time and money into education
- Stay in a state of curiosity
- Think 10X and act on 10X
When you DO success, you will BE success and you will consequently HAVE success… And speaking of investing time and money into education over entertainment, did you know you can get an executive ticket to our 10X Business Bootcamp and 12 months access to Cardone U for on $1,497?
