Successful Actions from 2020 for 2021
Last week I started asking my coaching clients what they did that was successful in 2020. Looking for commonalities I wanted to see what were the right actions people took that not only got them through 2020 but helped them come out on top.
Have you done this yet yourself? What things did you do in 2020 that were successful, that got measurable results so that they can duplicate them again in 2021?
Cardone-ism: Duplicate Successful Actions
I found 5 things that were pretty consistent and expressed in one way or another by most of the companies I surveyed during the week. Here’s what I found:
- Stay focused on positive outcomes
- Expand your network
- Nurture your power base
- Get better
- Have Clarity
Let’s dig a little deeper here and expand on these five successful actions.
Stay focused on positive outcomes
How do you want this to end? What’s this? This could be 2021, this could be this month, this week, today, the hour, the phone call, the appointment, date night. This is anything and everything. Are you looking for the positive result or trying to avoid a negative outcome? Which one has the most real estate in your head and for how long do you plan on keeping that behavior going? Keep the focus on the outcome you want, not the one you don’t
Expand your network
You network is your net worth. Obscurity is a business’s and a salesperson’s biggest problem. If they don’t know you, they can’t flow you. People do business with people they know, like and trust. Need I go on? Do everything you can to get know, meet new people, build relationships and make contacts.
Nurture your power base
Second type of obscurity is the one where when it came time to take action, people forgot about you. Make sure you’re staying in communication, delivering value and offering service. It’s not your client’s responsibility to remember you. It’s your responsibility to make sure they can’t forget you.
Get better
If you’re on cruise control, knock that off. Are you an amateur or a professional? Are you average or great? If you’re not looking to improve, if you’re not practicing and studying your craft and your skill sets every day then you are average and you’re an amateur. Get your discipline in, be great and look for ways to get and be better.
Have clarity
Clear: easy to perceive, understand, or interpret; unclouded. Is this you? Do you have clarity when it comes to your goals and targets? What about your sales process? Company mission statement? Morals, values, ethics? What are your non-negotiables? You got to get clear on you, where you’re going, why you want to go there and what it’ll mean when you get there. And what’s clouding your vision? Who or what is planting the seeds of doubt or limits? Who are you? Get clear. Have clarity.
What are your successful actions?
What did you do in 2020 that worked so well for you you’re going to bring it along into 2021? Find those right things, those successful actions so you can repeat them over and over and win and win. 2021 is yours for the taking IF you’re willing to and then actually put in the work.
