Great salespeople hold themselves to performance standards higher than normal
What do you expect of yourself? Is it higher than what others expect of you?
How to tell if you’re great:

The GREATS push themselves. They push themselves internally to a performance beyond what the marketplace has attained. The GREATS push themselves to another place.
Consider Roger Banister. Consider the GREATS in any profession…
The GREATS listen to the industry stats. They listen and look at metrics of the industry and then they laugh at them (quietly maybe) knowing that they refuse to compare themselves to the results, statistics and metrics of the average.
To be GREAT you must look at the norms, the stats and the metrics and then see exactly what you can do to blow them out of the water!

This week, do some research on your industry. Find out exactly what the norm is. Find out what average looks like. What are your industry standards? Now look at where you fit in currently. Are you below average, at average or already above it? No matter where you are now, the next question you want to ask is, what is your potential? Are you capable of more? Much more? If not, why not? Getting clear on your current reality and setting your vision on your true potential is one more step towards being GREAT.
