Perfection: The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom
This week’s Wednesday Word is not only over used and abused by so many people (myself included), it is also quite the handy dandy excuse used by millions to stay comfortably average.
WORD: Perfection (noun)
DEFINITION of Perfection:
- the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.
- a person or thing perceived as the embodiment of perfection.
- the action or process of improving something until it is faultless or as faultless as possible.
ETYMOLOGY of Perfection:
Latin perfectus “completed, excellent, accomplished, exquisite,”
Perfection: The Wednesday Word ACTION IDEAS:
Here’s what Grant Cardone says about perfection,
I never strive for perfection, I strive for increased levels of production.”
Remember last week’s word was perception, right? So, your perception of “perfection” may be exactly what is stopping you from getting where you want to go in your sales, your business and your life.
People don’t get anything done because they are waiting to get it “perfect”.
Now, keep in mind here, Grant’s not suggesting you create sloppy work or make lousy sales calls. He’s suggesting that you take higher levels of action, production and leave perfection for those that are perfectly stuck in average. Nobody who’s exceptional at anything waited for perfection.
And now for the perfect dichotomy of dichotomies:
What if turned out that you are already perfect, even with your flaws. God, whoever that is to you, is perfection and if you are in his or her or their image then there for you too are perfect. Follow?
You are a Divine creation, a Being of Light who showed up here as a human being at the exact moment you were supposed to. You are the Beloved, a miracle, a part of the eternal perfection.”
-Wayne Dyer
