Journey:  The Wednesday Word ACTION IDEAS:

So which is it?  Is it about the journey or the destination?  What’s more important?  Ralph Waldo Emerson get’s credit for the saying, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.”  Then there’s Zig Ziglar quote, “Success is not a destination, it’s a journey.”

I have a question for you.  What’s the point of going on a journey if you never arrive?  I mean would you set out for the supermarket with full intention to get food for the week, never actually go but drive around town aimlessly only to arrive back home with no food but yet somehow feeling fulfilled?

Getting a man on the moon was about the destination.  Winning the Superbowl is about the destination.  Becoming a millionaire is about the destination.

If you believe that the journey is more important than the destination, would you consider that perhaps you are unclear and uncertain about your goals, your dreams and your why?

YES, you should love, enjoy and respect the process.  100% there are billions of lessons learned and massive growth along the way.  YES, the journey matters but if you’re not focused on the destination, you’re meandering through and out of control of your life.

We need both.

Those who make a commitment to success as a destination will last longer than those who are just on a journey. Every time you get disappointed or experience a setback, go back and write down your goals. Force yourself to remain focused on the destination instead of the difficulties. Keep in mind that the successful keep their eye on their targets regardless of the challenges. Stay on your journey and make sure you hit your destination.”   -Grant Cardone
